From Flower to Bar: The Story Behind Your Favorite Soap

You see it lying in your bathroom: a wonderfully scented, creamy piece of soap with a soft color and a fine texture. But did you know that behind that seemingly simple soap there is a whole story? A story of care, time and love - from flower to bar.

At Mary Savon de Fleur we believe that real care starts with real ingredients. That’s why our process starts at the source. Think of rich shea butter from West Africa, known for its nourishing properties for generations. Or the elderflower, hand-picked from our own region when they are in full bloom. Every ingredient we use has a purpose, a story and a provenance that we are proud of.

And then the craft begins. Each batch of soap is mixed, poured and shaped by hand – no big machines or assembly lines, just the way it used to be. We consciously choose the cold saponification method, so that the precious ingredients retain their potency. No overheating, no shortcuts.

After casting, we let the soap harden slowly, often for four to six weeks. Yes, it takes patience – but that is part of our trade. It is during this time that the soap develops its softness, scent and texture. Each bar is then lovingly cut, polished and packaged – each one unique.
